Imperial county had a strong wind this week negatively impacted hay quality but good demand from local dairy and exporters at 210-215 for premium and 215-220 for supreme. Central California had rain and buyers are looking for Alfalfa Hay in Imperial and Arizona area.

Still very slow market for local dairy and exporters. old crop is being sold @200-205 FOB Stack. Most of people are just quiet due to low price at Southern California. Heard Oregon Grass Straw dropped down a lot at overseas due to over-supplying.

Central CA had a rain this week after one of driest 1st quarter season. So, more demand to Imperial County from Dairy Farmers in Central and Northern CA. Price was around 215 to 220 for exportable Premium Alfalfa and 210-215 for Premium Bermuda Hay.

Exporters started to sell Old Alfalfa to domestic dairy because of slow demand from overseas and CA new crop Alfalfa is being sold 20 or 30 lower than old. All hay acreage around 840,000 Acre in Washington State, up 60,000 from 2012. Fescue Straw sold @ 110.00 which was 70-80 lower than season highest.
